Well the Road Runner better watch out as his nemesis, Wile E. Coyote is now getting his time on the big screen. The live action-animation movie Coyote vs. Acme has now gotten a director, Dave Green.
This announcement about Green signing for directing this movie is the first news we have on Coyote vs. Acme since last summer when the film had been announced, and Jon and Josh Silberman were writing he script.
While it is not really clear what story Coyote vs. Acme is set to tell, the title might seem to hint at a legal battle for this character, one that is very familiar for all the fans. In the year, 1990, the author, Ian Frazier had written a piece of fiction for The New Yorker called, ‘Coyote v. Acme’, and had imagined a lawsuit that is brought about by the character against the Acme Company that had given him many devices to help the pursuit of Road Runner. These devices had malfunctioned, and it led to the humorous injuries, and failures.
If Coyote vs. Acme does release, it will be the third big Looney Tunes film in the last 22 years after 1996’s Space Jam and 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
Coyote vs. Acme does not yet have a release date.
