What Will Happen To Hulk After The Events Of Infinity War? Here’s What We Know

Avengers: Infinity War had a great im; pact on its heroes and the fans. The film has caused great pain and choked the MCU while the fans looked helplessly at the blitzkrieg unleashed by the Russo brothers. The movie’s ending was a cliffhanger as thrilling as Game of Thrones, and we gasped to comprehend what we saw.

The film had a huge impact because so many heroes died and it is surely one of the best superhero films ever. It has silenced the critics who used to slam Marvel for making soft and light films. While the overall story progressed, the Hulk went backward. Those who saw the film know this very well.

Therefore, the major question now is, how will Infinity War determine Hulk’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Spoiler Alert: Huge Avengers: Infinity War Spoilers follow.

Infinity War showed all popular MCU superheroes battle Thanos and his troops. Avengers, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, etc. got together to prevent Thanos from acquiring all the Infinity Stones and use his Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of the universe’s life.

The trailers showed who all will battle in the Avengers: Infinity War. Bruce Banner was also one of them, but, he didn’t fight in the movie. What prompted the change?

In fact, Bruce Banner did take on Thanos in his Hulk for at the very start of the film, but, that was the only visual of the green monster. Thanos beat him and humiliated him terribly, and he became afraid of Thanos, refusing to come out.

Therefore, Bruce Banner had no option but to put on the Hulkbuster Armor and battle. While it might seem as if Marvel tried to keep Bruce Banner away from the battle, but, it, in fact, is a tactic to allow further evolution of the Hulk.

Where will the Hulk go from here?

The Hulk attacks Thanos on the Asgardian Refugee ship and is thoroughly thrashed. The frightened Hulk is then sent back to Earth by Heimdall via Bifrost. That’s when we learn that the Hulk is too afraid and refuses to emerge.  It has a reason.

At the time of Banner’s MCU debut, he was shown as an angry monster causing mayhem. In Thor: Ragnarok he was shown to be smarter and in control of his mind to a great extent. This change is more prominent in Avengers: Infinity War. Banner has begun realizing that the Hulk is a separate being in his body and they have started talking. The Hulk is afraid of Thanos, and this has made the monster appear greatly human.

For now, the Hulk is afraid. Banner needs to make him understand that he has to learn accepting defeat. They had initial discord, but, then came to terms with each other.

The ultimate transformation will be Banner making the Hulk understand that he cares for him and is searching for him. After the Hulk understands that he is not lonely, the Mighty Avenger will come back and take on Thanos again. A round two is well-deserved.

Only time will reveal what happens next, but, we don’t think that Hulk will let his fans down again. Marvel Studios already have an uncomfortable relationship with the Hulk’s fans due to the fact that a Hulk solo film is not going to be made. Sometime back, Mark Ruffalo had put the blame on Universal as they are unwilling to cooperate with Marvel. He had said:

“I just want to make one thing perfectly clear today that a standalone Hulk movie will never happen. Because Universal has the rights to the standalone Hulk movie and for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel, and they don’t want to make money. I figure I’ve got two or three more years left before I’m too old to play the Hulk.”

After Ruffalo came out with his feelings in public, Marvel offered him an olive branch by giving him a crucial role in Thor: Ragnarok, which in Ruffalo’s opinion was the start of a fresh Hulk trilogy. Ruffalo said:

“So basically, Kevin Feige pulled me aside before this, and said, ‘If you were gonna do a… if we were going to do a standalone Hulk movie, what would it be?’ And I said, ‘I think it should be this, this, this, and this and this, and ends up like this.’ And he’s like, ‘I love that. Why don’t we do that in the next three movies, starting with Thor 3 and then we go into Avengers 3 and 4.’ And I was like, ‘That sounds great!’ And so we are at the beginning of this arc.”

Although a Hulk solo is not going to be made, but, Marvel did the best it could. We are sure that the green guy will have a chunky role in Avengers 4.
