Thanos, the Mad Titan, is one of the most powerful and feared villains in the entire Marvel Universe. Belonging to a race called the Eternals, Thanos was a mutant of his kind. Thanos was in love with Mistress Death ever since he was a boy and would do anything to win her affection including destroying half the universe.
To that end, Thanos has always experimented on himself to boost his power to new levels. And once he learned about the Infinity Gauntlet, that’s where his name became feared for all time. In the Marvel Universe, there are some alternate versions of Thanos, and we will be looking at the most powerful versions of him who could potentially wipe out the Avengers.
8. ULTIMATE THANOS
This version of Thanos has super strength, cosmic awareness that lets him see whats happening several galaxies away, mind control; energy blasts, and could resurrect himself whenever he wanted.
7. AVENGERS THANOS
In Thanos #10, Thanos is considered one of Earth’s greatest heroes and is actually pretty happy about his superhero role.
6. POISON THANOS
First appearing in Edge of Venomverse #2, in this alternate universe, Thanos combined with Venom possesses all the strength and fury of both villainous characters.
When Marvel and DC Comics got together, they published their Amalgam Universe. Amalgam where Thanos was combined with his DC version, Darkseid, bringing forth Thanoseid.
Thanoseid was one of the most powerful characters in any comic book universe and ruled Apokolips with an iron fist.
In Infinity Abyss, Thanos clones himself with the DNA of Galactus to form Omega.
3. CANCERVERSE THANOS
The Cancerverse version of Thanos has the same powers as regular Thanos but cannot die.
2. “THANOS WINS” THANOS
In the Thanos series, Thanos finally destroys all of Earth’s heroes, destroys the planet, and moves on to the galaxy killing every cosmic being in the Marvel Universe.
1. YEAR 20XX THANOS
In the series U.S. Avengers, Thanos killed half of Earth’s heroes in one cataclysmic battle and created a pair of Cosmic Cube Iso-Gauntlets; which were gauntlets with little cosmic cubes in them.
