Tremors TV Show Is Not Happening: Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon has revealed that the mjuch awaited Tremors TV series has been scrapped.  Bacon came back to play his role for the pilot, and all involved had great hopes about the show because he was keen to revisit the franchise. However, Syfy was not impressed with the pilot. The good thing is that sicne the pilot has been shot, we might see it sometime in the future. It is also not ruled out that some other network might order the Tremors reboot TV series. Netflix is always a great option for all.

Kevin Bacon made the announcement about his Tremors TV series getting canceled on his Instagram and apparently he is not pleased with it. Bacon said that this is the only character ever played by him that he considered revisiting. Further, the fans of this cult film were keen to see him return to Tremors franchise. This is what Bacon said.

“#Tremors Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!”

The TV reboot of the Tremors series was going to be based 25 years into the future after the events of the original film. It was supposed to reunite Kevin Bacon with his original co-actor Fred Ward. While talking about his character, Bacon had recently remarked, “I just got to thinking, where would this guy end up after 25 years?” The show was set to feature on the comeback of the killer worms and the mayhem that they would have unleashed on the desert town in Nevada, which would once again compel the old alcoholic Valentine McKee (Kevin Bacon) to once again stand up for humanity.

However, this is not the first instance of a Tremors TV show doing the rounds. Back in 2003, The Syfy network crated a series which ran for 13 episodes before getting canceled. In 2015, announcement was made for another Tremors show, but, that one didn’t materialize. Therefore, hopes were high regarding Kevin Bacon coming back to play Valentine McKee, and it is weird to see that the show wasn’t ordered after the pilot episode. It is unusual for a revival series featuring one of the leading stars, getting scrapped even before it made its way to the audiences.

Vincenzo Natali directed the pilot for Tremors and it was written by Andrew Miler. As far as seeing the pilot is concerned, we are not sure if it will ever be revealed which might be heart-breaking to the fans who had been eager to see Kevin Bacon return to the franchise. It is evident that Bacon is as upset as the fans about the Tremors reboot not being made in the near future.
