Transformers franchise has a huge number of fans all over the world. They love the toys, animated shows and to a certain extent the movies associated with it. But the one thing Transformers movie lacked was critical appreciation. It was a topic of debate among fans for years. It was a topic of so much contention that Michael Bay, director of all Transformer movies except Bumblebee was dubbed as the “worst director of all time”.

Seems like this tiny problem was solved by the latest installation of this franchise, Bumblebee. Bumblebee performed exceptionally well critically, holding an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.  It also finally satisfied the fans of the franchise in a way previous movies didn’t. Peter Debruge of Variety said that Bumblebee was basically the movie that fans of the 1980s animated series wanted all along. The movie was also announced to bethe reboot of the series.

To those who don’t know, Transformers is a series of American science fiction action films based on the Transformers franchise which began in the 1980s. Michael Bay has directed the first five films: Transformers (2007), Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dark of the Moon (2011), Age of Extinction (2014) and The Last Knight (2017).A spin-off film, Bumblebee, directed by Travis Knight and produced by Bay, was released on December 21, 2018.

After finally getting it right, Paramount is now creating two movies in this universe. First, would be a movie in the larger Transformers franchise and another will be a sequel of Hailee Steinfeld’s Bumblebee.

Further information suggests that the Bumblebee sequel will serve as an adjacent property and have a more character driven theme, while the first movie of the rebooted franchise will be a summer spectacle.

Transformers producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura also confirmed, sending waves of happiness in all of the fans that Optimus Prime would be appearing in at least two future movies.

“We are already working on two projects and both have scripts under development,” Di Bonaventura told Japanese outlet Cinema. “One is the latest in the main family series following the events of Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee. So, we are thinking of films where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddies, but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists … how human beings get involved in their drama In the first place, the size is different between human beings and their’s …. It’s a worrying point (laughs).”
