There is everything now in Hollywood. But all of it, at least the majority of it is owned by Marvel. In the last decade Marvel has taken over everything. It took years for audience to get the legendary coupling of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. But now it is a thing of every day to get a number of power stars such as the likes of Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr and Scarlet Johanssontogether in one screen. In all honestly it is as majestic as it is weird.
Oscar’s got a taste of this weirdness in its recent nominations. As both Scarlet and Florence Pugh got nominated in the same category of Best Supporting Actressfor Jojo Rabbit and Little Women respectively. But it is not only this category that they are sharing, they will also be Sharing screen space in the highly anticipated Black Widow movie set to release this year.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Black Widow”— a prequel set right after the events of “Captain America: Civil War will have Pugh playing sister figure Yelena Belova, who has also been trained as a Black Widow. Not only this they are accompanied by Laura Dern as a fellow nominee in this category who coincidently co-starred with both the amazing aforementioned actresses. She co-starred with Scarlet in Marriage Story playing her Lawyer and with Hugh in Little Women playing Pugh’s Mother. Dern also according to most sources seems to be the frontrunner.
But there is no reason to be sad as there is a huge chance that both the actresses can go home with awards as Scarlet in her career changing year has actually been nominated in two categories both as the lead actress as well as Supporting Actress. Any which way here’s to hoping that both of the actresses have a night of their lives.
