Be all set as the next Jumanji movie is now in the works. This has been confirmed by an Instagram announcement from actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
After the huge success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the film which serves as a reboot of this franchise and also a sequel to the original, the actor, Johnson had said that the next film is “officially underway.” It has been reported that the actor had shared a post on Instagram which showed him sitting on a table with his colleagues and this included Jake Kasdan, the writer, and director for Welcome to the Jungle.
“Ladies, gents, and children of all ages. The JUMANJI SEQUEL is officially underway,” Johnson had written.
“Holy shit what a dynamite pitch from our writer/director Jake Kasdan. We couldn’t stop laughing and most importantly – like our first JUMANJI – the HEART in our story is our anchor.”
The actor could not really help but take a dig at Kevin Hart who had starred in Jumanji movie and revealed a “spoiler” that his character dies within the first few moments of this movie.
“And sorry for the spoiler but @kevinhart4real dies in the first 15 seconds of the movie, to what I’m assuming will be a HUGE standing ovation from the audience and the cast.”
This is not the first that we have all heard of the Jumanji sequel movie. The very first promotional poster for this sequel had been shared during an awards event, and it showed the silhouettes of Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black, standing in front of the Jaguar Statue.
A name and release date for this film are not yet known, but there is a timeframe for when it is expected to release and Sony Pictures’ chairman, Tom Rothman has said that the company is hoping for a December 2019 release.
