Trailer For Superman: Red Son Released

Warner Bros. Animation has now released the trailer for Superman: Red Son, and this is the next DC Universe Original Movie. The animated movie is an adaptation of 2003 miniseries by Dave Johnson, Mark Millar, and also, Killian Plunkett. This series is the Elseworlds tale and imagines a world where Kal-El’s rocket had landed in the USSR during the 1950s and Superman is a champion of Soviet values. This story recasts Batman, Brainiac, Wonder Woman, LexLuthor and Green Lantern, because it is set during the Cold War. This movie’s voice cast includes Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Jason Isaacs as Kal-El, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Diedrich Bader as LexLuthor, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Phil LaMarr as John Stewart, Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Sasha Roiz as Hal Jordan, William Salyers as Joseph Stalin and also, Paul Williams as Braniac. Superman: Red Son is set to release by 2020.

This is the synopsis for the series:

“Imagine a reality where the world’s most powerful super-being does not grow up in Smallville, Kansas—or even America, for that matter…

Superman: Red Son is a vivid tale of Cold War paranoia, that reveals how the ship carrying the infant who would later be known as Superman lands in the midst of the 1950s Soviet Union. Raised on a collective, the infant grows up and becomes a symbol to the Soviet people, and the world changes drastically from what we know – bringing Superman into conflict with Batman, LexLuthor and many others.”

A Superman movie had kicked off 2019’s DC Universe Original Movie slate. Reign of the Supermen had been the next part of the story which had started with The Death of Superman in the year, 2018. This had been the very first DC Universe Original Movie that had Superman as the solo headliner. This movie series also was alternating between Batman and Justice League films. The past Superman-focused movies were All-Star Superman, Superman: Doomsday, Superman: Unbound and Superman vs. the Elite.
