There is a great difference between having a look at concept art and creating the final thing, and the process can often be quite challenging for the filmmakers. It is a different ball game to create a design which looks fabulous on paper, compared to actually creating that concept into a physical thing.
Although the big-budget movies generally find it less difficult to do, TV shows, which typically have less money to spend than movies, at times find that difficult.
The superhero TV shows such as Daredevil and The Flash are some shows that faced this problem. Despite being reasonably successful shows, they don’t have the kind of budget that an Avengers or Justice League movie would have.
That is the reason why at times the concept art content created at pre-production stage doesn’t turn out to be as awesome on the screen.
Sometimes the changes result in the show or the character looking less impactful, and then at other times, the changes might completely alter the tone of the show and its popularity.
There is a lot at stake in superhero shows because there is generally a great deal of pre-existing concept art available in the market in the form of comic books and deviations can backfire.
If a show doesn’t depict the superhero, the way fans imagine based on the comic books then the fans will not overlook the error.
