One of the most anticipated series in the Star Wars fandom centred around the fan favourite Obi-Wan Kenobi has reportedly been delayed because the scripts written for the series was not up to the standards, expected. Not only that the episode count has also been reduced from 6 to 4.
This move could be upsetting to the fans who are waiting for the longest time to have a series based on the titular character. To people who do not now it took a lot of years and factors to get the project up and rolling.
This move though disheartening does not come as a surprise because Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker became one of the most critically failed movie in the franchise’ history. I mean fans were not appreciative of the movie at all. One of the reasons cited behind the critical failure was the fact that a lot of adjustments were made in the movie to meet the release date. Therefore it is but obvious that Lucasfilms Kathleen Kennedy would want to take her time in this show.
On the other hand the live-action Star Wars: The Mandalorian series has been one of the most critically successful ventures of the franchise in a long time. The fact that the show will come on the heels of it, it needs to be perfect.
Even though it will take time for the project to come, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The fact that at the end we are going to get the best product is enough to get the fans through the wait for our beloved Jedi.
And considering the excitement Ewan McGregor has shown for the series in past years he is not going anywhere.
We wish the creators all the best in their quest to bring us the best series possible.
