Disney just announced that an all-new Star Wars show titled Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge is now on its way to Disney+. Unlike all of the other Star Wars TV series and films that tend to narrate their own stories, Jedi Temple Challenge is a game show that features the Jar Jar Binks star, Ahmed as the host and a few young contestants who can show off their Jedi skills. This show has been scheduled for a 2020 release.
All the details about this show that have been revealed through a press release had confirmed that Ahmed would host the show that is now geared towards all the young Star Wars fans. He will be joined by Mary Holland who will be playing the humanoid droid co-host.
It has not been revealed as of now what the challenges of the game show would be, but it had been revealed that the challenges would “test young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery” through many obstacles. Mickey Capoferri who is the senior director of online content and programming, Lucasfilm had referenced a few locations where these challenges would be hosted.
“This is definitely a kids game show like no other,” Capoferri had said.
“The various challenges will test a Padawan’s connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, on board a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.”
This game show is now in development by Steve Blank and Scott Bromley. Capoferri and Christine Beebe will be the executive producers of this show.
Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge is set to be streamed via Disney+ as an unscripted game show in the year, 2020.
