“The idea for Star Wars Resistance came out of my interest in World War II aircraft and fighter pilots. My grandfather was a pilot, and my uncle flew and restored planes, so that’s been a big influence on me. There’s a long history of high-speed racing in Star Wars, and I think we’ve captured that sense of excitement in an anime-inspired style, which is something the entire team has been wanting to do for a long time.”

The premiere date for the new series hasn’t been announced, but, Lucasfilm did mention that the premiere will happen on Disney Channel in the fall and the series will then relocate to Disney XD (just what Star Wars: Rebels had done in the first season).

No premiere date for the series has been announced. However, Lucasfilm did share that the series will debut on Disney Channel this Fall and will then move to Disney XD (similar to what Star Wars Rebels did in its first season).
