The original Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy was the first cinematic Spider-Man to connect with millions of fans and had incorporated some fantastic villains into his movies. Green Goblin or Norman Osborne was an intimidating adversary who was also Peter’s adopted father figure.
Spider-Man 2 saw world-renowned scientist, Otto Octavius become Dr. Octopus after a terrible accident twisted Otto’s mind. And then there’s Venom.
Those films were the reason for fans getting into comic books at a younger age, as they brought the wall-crawler to life on the big screen. But since the comics have hundreds of costumes, characters, villains and other stories to offer, there has been some trial and error when bringing Spider-Man to the big screen. And while most of those ideas don’t always make the cut, they give us some excellent insights into what might have been.
So here’s looking at 15 incredible art concepts that were originally designed to be used for the Spiderman trilogy movies but at the end were abandoned for some reason.
