All the Star Wars fans are now enjoying their first live-action TV series of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and now a TV series that focuses on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s Cassian Andor, is also being developed.  A new report had revealed that this series had plans to explore an earlier point in history of this character’s connection to the Rebel Alliance. Diego Luna’s Cassian had said that he was featured in the fight since he had been a child, a casting report seems to confirm that this series would utilize flashbacks to tell the story.

DiscussingFilm had reported:

“It seems we are going to see why he joined this fight at such a young age. Lucasfilm is currently eyeing to cast nine-year-old and 13-year-old versions of Cassian Andor. Lucasfilm is also eyeing to cast a nine-year-old sister of Cassian Andor’s. ”

Luna has been confirmed to reprise the role, and Alan Tudyk will also reprise his role of K-2SO. While a potential casting of a young actor may not really reveal a lot about the narrative of this show, learning a few details about what the fans can see is exciting. The series has been described as,

“The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series has not yet been announced.”

Stephen Schiff had been tapped to be the showrunner, and it was also confirmed that Tony Gilroy will be writing the pilot and also direct a few episodes. Gilroy’s role in this show has excited all the fans, as he had directed a few reshoots on Rogue One and this had altered the course of the adventure.

“If you look at Rogue, all the difficulty with Rogue, all the confusion of it … and all the mess, and in the end when you get in there, it’s actually very, very simple to solve,” Gilroy had said.

“Because you sort of go, ‘This is a movie where, folks, just look. Everyone is going to die.’ So it’s a movie about sacrifice.”

The Cassian Andor series is set to begin shooting next year.
