Matrix as a franchise was way ahead of its time. It pointed out a truth that no one thought was even possible during that time. The dominance of technology. The fact that technology could overpower us eventually is a reality now more so than ever. So it was not surprising when Warner Bros. brought back the franchise for another shot. For a long time it was a huge question as both the Wanchowski’s during the time of the release of Matrix movies vehemently maintained that there is no future for the franchise beyond the trilogy. But when Lana got a story to move forward with they had to give it a nod.

In terms of casting both Keanu Reeves and Carrie- Ann Moss were confirmed to return to the elation of long-time fans. Though unfortunately Hugo Weaving could not return for story writing purposes. Now we have got a peek of their characters in action. A photo is circulating in social media of both Reeves and Moss in their iconic characters Neo and Trinity. They both are on a bike with Trinity as the rider and Neo in the passenger.

Though the return of Reeves and Moss has generated quite a bohemia among the fan base, speculations suggest that the movie will focus on a character played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.  He tried hard to control his excitement in a recent interview.

“I would love to talk about The Matrix!” Abdul Mateen II said. “But I’m very excited to do it. A great team and I think there’s going to be a lot of … it’s a very exciting relevant script that I’m honored to be a part of.”

Another thing to be noticed here is that Reeves is in his look of John Wick. We love John Wick, don’t get us wrong. But John Wick is not Neo not by a long shot. The best Sci- Fi hero of all times does not look like that.

Toby Emmerich, the chairman of Warner Bros. when asked seemed very excited at the prospect of Matrix. He called Lana a true visionary. A Singular and original filmmaker. They were very thrilled that she was writing, directing and producing this new chapter.
