Michael Keaton’s Commencement Speech Proves He Is “The Goddamn Batman!”

Many people across the nerd world would crown Michael Keaton as the quintessential version of the Dark Knight, Batman. Going by his recent appearance, it is pretty safe to assume that all the students at Kent State University are surely among this group.

The actor had portrayed the character in Batman and Batman Returns, and he also gave a commencement address at the Kent State University’s graduation. “I’m Batman,” he said by the end, to the delight of the crowd.

This is not the first time that the actor has poked fun at this own Batman tenure and he also spoke about his time on set of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“He’s a badass,” Tom Holland (Spider-Man) had said.

“We have a fight in the movie and I punch him. He turns around and says [in a deep voice], ‘I’m Batman.’ He kept doing Batman quotes on set.”

While he actor had dabbled in Marvel and DC, it does seem like he does not really have a favorite:

“They’re really different in terms of how they’re made.” Keaton had said.

“You know think about what Tim did, Tim Burton, who to me is a just, there’s no one like him. He’s truly unique and an artist and I love working with him. The Marvel people are kind of amazing. There’s all that interconnected lore of you know, Iron Man and all the, I’ll tell you there are so many characters. You have no idea how many characters there are in the Marvel world that we haven’t even heard of yet.”
