Star Wars: Mark Hamill Lashes Out At Those Harrassing Kelly Marie Tran On Twitter

Right from the time of the film’s release, she has been the target of online bullies who hated the Rian Johnson-helmed movie or the character of Rose Tico played by her. However, Hamill retorted strongly, defending someone he has earlier called a “second daughter.” “What’s not to love? #GetALifeNerds,” he posted along with a photo of them in a hug.

The harassment has been so far reaching that some of the bullies went on to make nasty and racist edits to her page on Wookieepedia. This also made The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson to express his unhappiness about the incident.

Responding to a tweet which supported Tran’s harassment, Johnson clarified that such actions were indefensible and to put up an argument regarding such behavior was nonsense. “Done with this disingenuous bullshit,” the filmmaker tweeted. “You know the difference between not liking a movie and hatefully harassing a woman so bad she has to get off social media. And you know which of those two we’re talking about here.”

You can now watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Blu-ray and 4k HD or stream it on various platforms. The movie stars Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Laura Dern as Vice Admiral AmilynHoldo and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa.
