If you are one of those fans who hope that Captain America had been Star-Lord’s grandpa, then well, that is wrong. After one of the fan theories had suggested this, it had gone viral. The Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn, has now taken to Twitter and has debunked this. He had said he is “sorry to bust” the popular theory.

The theory had suggested that Captain America had a one night stand with the character who had been played by Laura Haddock in the movie, Captain America: The First Avenger. Haddock had then returned to the MCU and had played the role of Quill’s mother in the Guardians of the Galaxy films. This theorist had then suggested that Haddock’s Captain America was the mother of Meredith Quill.

“Sorry to bust this fun theory,” Gunn had tweeted.

“But it doesn’t work as Meredith Quill’s father is a major character played by @GreggHenry88 in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and appears briefly in Vol 2.”

He is now filming The Suicide Squad for Warner Brothers and is set to return to the MCU and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Nothing has been unveiled as of now about the threequel. Karen Gillan had previously teased the “wonderful” script.

“I can say that I’ve read it and it’s amazing,” Gillan had said.

“We’re all really excited that James is back to complete the trilogy because it wouldn’t have felt right without him. It’s a wonderful, wonderful script.”

She had then added, “I didn’t get the whole script, but I got a good chunk of it, and so I could easily work out what was happening.”
