Tony Stark is the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist who created Iron Man with a little help from his friend, Yinsen. Stark is the man who brought Iron Man to life. Since then, Stark has expanded his collection of armoured suits to outrageous heights. Some were created for the sole purpose of killing gods.
As a result, a lot of people wanted to duplicate what he did and create their own superior versions of his armour since Stark never gave up his secrets and only shared his technology with his most trusted allies. This is a list of 8 alternate armours more powerful than Stark’s.
8. FRANK CASTLE (WAR MACHINE)
After the recent death of James Rhodes, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury gave the War Machine armour to Frank Castle.
In true Punisher fashion, Castle comes out all guns blazing when he gets his hands on the War Machine armour.
7. BORIS BULLSKI (TITANIUM ARMOR)
Boris Bulliski, a Soviet agent used one of the scientists at a Siberian camp to create a Titanium armoured suit which was much larger in size as the Soviets had limited access to micro-components. The result was a bulky appearance with hindered mobility.
6. RIRI WILLIAMS (IRONHEART)
Riri Williams used the Mark 41 design scheme to create an armour suit for herself in her own garage. All of the parts came from the M.I.T. campus where she procured them. Tony Stark took her under his wing, after noticing her efforts to fight crime and enlisted her help during the second superhuman Civil War. The war concluded with Stark in a coma, and Riri became Ironheart.
5. DOUG JOHNSON III (DETROIT STEEL)
Sasha Hammer took the armour from Doug Johnson to become the new Detroit Steel.
4. BRENDAN DOYLE (MAULER)
Designed by Cordco Inc., the Mauler armour was first worn by Aaron Soames. It then wound up in a vault at Stark Industries which was then stolen by Brendan Doyle. Doyle used the Mauler armour on various missions, until he surrendered the armour to Tony Stark during the Armour Wars event.
3. IVAN VANKO (WHIPLASH ARMOR MK II)
Ivan Vanko was working on the Mark II Whiplash armour, a combination of his repulsor whips and Stark’s tank-like covering.
2. WALTER NEWELL (STINGRAY)
Walter Newell, as an oceanographer, explored the depths of the ocean, and during one deep-sea exploration, found himself stuck. To escape, Newell created the Stingray armour which granted Newell abilities like superhuman strength, flight out of the water, and a built-in electrical discharger to disperse shocks to his enemies.
1. STEVE ROGERS (CIVIL WARRIOR)
When Tony Stark died during the climax of Civil War, Steve Rogers managed to survive but the guilt took a toll on him. Rogers created an armour in Stark’s lab from leftover pieces and installed an Arc reactor in his shield and integrated the top portion of Iron Man’s armour into his own suit.
