When a movie finishes its production, it is a general practice for the team to throw a party and celebrate the hard work everyone has put in. To celebrate 10 years of the MCU, a few stars had taken this a little further by getting matching tattoos for celebrating the release of Avengers: Infinity War.
Robert Downey Jr., who had starred in the first entry of the MCU in Iron Man had shared a video of him getting a tattoo with a stylized Avengers logo and “6,” and this represents the six heroes from The Avengers.
Before Downey revealed this tattoo, Jeremy Renner had teased this on social media by posting a photo of him with the tattoo artist.
After Downey’s reveal, the artist, Josh Lord of East Side Ink Tattoo in New York, New York had shared this photo from the event, which had included an Iron Man Easter egg.
In the photo, Lord is wearing a Black Sabbath T-shirt, with the band’s most famous song “Iron Man.” The song had been featured in the end credits of the movie, which followed Tony Stark’s reveal of being the superhero.
In Marvel’s The Avengers, Stark himself even wore a Black Sabbath T-shirt as a tribute to the band’s iconic song.
While Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans are not pictured in the Instagram posts, Evans has been tagged in the post, and this may be confirming that he got the tattoo as well.
Fans can see Avengers: Infinity War in theaters now.
Other MCU movies include Ant-Man and The Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, and the fourth Avengers on May 3, 2019. The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming hits on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 lands in 2020.
