Marvel’s Infinity War Movie Seems To Have Sunken ‘Titanic’ Domestic Box Office Ship

Marvel and Disney’s Avengers: Infinity War movie has now surpassed a huge movie’s performance- Titanic.

The movie is now climbing the box office charts and has domestically passed $660 million. This is more than enough to beat Titanic which earned $659,363,944 million. This puts Avengers: Infinity War as number 4 behind Panther which earned $699,512,354 million.

The Infinity War movie may surpass this as well, but it is not likely to surpass Avatar at $760,507,625 million and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936,662,225 million).

We must note that Infinity War has not yet surpassed Titanic on the worldwide box office charts. On this list, Marvel’s latest outing holds the number 4 spot, and it does have a chance of catching number 3 on the list Star Wars: The Force Awakens which earned $2,006.3 billion.

It is not likely to catch up to Titanic as this movie holds a number 2 spot at $2,187.5 billion.

There is a whole lot to celebrate about the Infinity War movie and after hearing the $2 billion news, screenwriter, Stephen McFeely had a lot to say:

“I will say on the Sunday morning, when it’s like 10 or something and Deadline says it broke the record, I got really emotional,” McFeely said. “It’s not my money, but it’s a validation of as— ton of work. The idea that it resonated and became slightly historical, at least for the moment, is really nice.”

Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters now. It will be followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6, 2018, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
