Avengers: Infinity War is a landmark movie which Marvel Studios was setting up for the last 10 years and now it is finally in theaters.
To put things into perspective as to how big a phenomenon this film is, we do not have to look any further than last year’s Justice League.
The DC superhero team-up which brought icons like Superman, Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg together for the very first time on-screen made $only 657 million worldwide in the theatrical run. Infinity War made $630 million on its opening weekend.
The road to Infinity War was paved in 2008 with Iron Man and fans have been looking forward to this crossover event since 2012. This was the year that the fans got a glimpse of the Marvel villain, Thanos during the mid-credits scenes of The Avengers.
The Mad Titan was teased many times after that and this fueled the fans’ desire to see him face fight Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The film has now released and memes have followed.
