In the new TV spot (video above), Marvel Studios celebrates the film’s $262 million weekend which overtook the Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ record of $247 million). The official global earning of the film was $857.3 million as on Wednesday, which indicated that the film would cross the $1 billion mark, either on Friday or Saturday. Since the movie released a few days earlier in some international markets, it implies that the movie would have crossed the mighty landmark in about 10-11 days, whereas the record so far is held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens which in 2015 reached $1 billion in 12 days.
It is heartening to see that the second successive Marvel team-up film is now set to go past the $1 billion mark and shattered records in the opening week. While it is not certain if Avengers: Infinity War can go on to become the top-grossing film of all time globally, but, there is going to be competition posed by Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story which might impact its prospects.
