The making of the fifth Indiana Jones movie has been confirmed by the Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy, at the BAFTA event that took place last night. Like you can already predict from the name, this movie will be the continuation of the earlier movies depicting the adventures of Indiana Jones. BBC News got confirmation about the movie being based upon the timeline just after the events of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Her confirmation about the fact that “Harrison Ford will be involved,” and that “he can’t wait.” made all the fans happy. As soon as the making of the new film was decided Ford was immediately involved. The involvement of Steven Spielberg got confirmation when he previously stated that “There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

Ford himself believes the fact that Indiana Jones should end with him, “Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones,” when he was asked for an heir his reply was, “Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”

Though the script is already being written by David Koepp, we still do not have any information about how the plot is going to run. The iconic duo will be back again, with Spielberg directing the movie, and Ford being the legendary character from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We will not be able to see the character of Jones’ son in this movie.

The release of Indiana Jones 5 has been postponed from its scheduled date of May 2020 to July 10, 2021. In April the production work for the film is supposed to begin, and only the return of Ford as Indiana Jones has been confirmed, no other casting announcements have been made yet. After several changes in the script Lucasfilm Decided on the present one on which Koepp is working.

The Chairman of The Walt Disney, Alan Horn announced plans regarding the new movie in a press release, saying “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,”. He also mentioned how “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor, and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
