Most of the fans may have heard about a very special team-up between Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds during 20th Century Fox’s presentation at CinemaCon. Hugh Jackman had taken to social media to wish somebody ‘Happy Birthday’ and even apologize for not being with them.
Here, he sits in a hotel room and is interrupted by Deadpool.
Jackman then appeared with the Merc with the Mouth for promoting Deadpool 2 during the CinemaCon, and the two had gone as far as to make jokes about the Fox and Disney purchase.
Deadpool’s obsession with Jackman now goes back to this character’s roots, when Reynolds had debuted as a version with no mask in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This version of the character had been criticized, and this film was panned until Reynolds had brought the character back in the X-Men universe’s very first R-rated movie.
In this film, Wade Wilson has tried to hide the scarred face from his girlfriend by cutting Jackman’s face from a cover of People Magazine and then stapling it onto his head.
While the fans may be clamoring for Jackman’s appearance as Logan, this actor has retired from the role.
“Look, if that movie had appeared ten years ago, it’d be a totally different story,” Jackman had said.
“But I knew 2.5 years ago that this was the last one. The first call I made was to Jim [Mangold]. I said, ‘Jim, I got one more shot at this.’ As soon as I got with Jim and started working on the idea of it, I was never more excited. But it feels like the right time… Deadpool, go for it, man. You do your thing. You don’t need me.”
Deadpool 2 will release on May 18th.
