At the center of the battle between Deadpool and Cable is a young mutant named Firefist, and we get to see just how deadly he is in a brand new released clip.
It is up to Deadpool and his X-Force to keep Firefist from Cable, but the relationship does not seem to kick off with the best start. In a new clip from the movie, Deadpool 2, X-Men arrive at the scene-Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Deadpool. They encounter the slightly out of control young mutant named Russell, whose codename is Firefist.
Not surprisingly, Deadpool has a hard time dealing with that nickname, and laughs when he tries to say it out loud. Firefist makes it clear he wants no part of Deadpool. When Deadpool asks him an inquisitive question about his powers, Firefist shows him by hurling a fireball towards Wade who ducks but ends up hitting Negasonic first and Colossus next.
Luckily their power allows them to be relatively unharmed, but Negasonic is quite annoyed at the Justin Beiber joke.
You can watch the whole clip in the video below.
Firefist needs to join sides with Deadpool and his X-Force, because Cable is planning on doing more than just make fun of his codename.
Deadpool is played by Ryan Reynolds. Josh Brolin’s Cable and ZazieBeetz’ Domino join the beloved characters from the original film like Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Vanessa (MorenaBaccarin) Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Dopinder (Karan Soni), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), and T.J. Miller (Weasel).
Deadpool 2 releases in theatres on May 18th, while X-Men: Dark Phoenix releases in theaters on February 14, 2019. The New Mutants is slated to hit theatres on August 2, 2019.
