Spoiler Alert: Avengers: Infnity War spoilers ahead!
Some reports claim that the actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was seen on the Avengers 4 set.
Taylor-Johnson played Pietro Maximoff, better known as Quicksilver in the Avengers: Age of Ultron. He along with his sister Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) became superhero beings after an experiment was conducted on them by Hydra leader Baron Wolfgang von Strucker using the power of Loki’s scepter which contained the Mind Stone. Wanda got psychic and telekinetic powers, and Pietro was granted superspeed.
Initially, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were Hydra foot-soldiers who worked with Ultron. However, later they figured out Ultron’s plan and sided with the Avengers during the Sokovian battle. Quicksilver perished while trying to protect Hawkeye from a bullet aimed at the archer.
So how would he come back in Avengers 4, if that is happening at all? One possibility is that somehow Avengers succeed in undoing the consequences of Thanos’ finger snap and that also brings back to life those who died in Avengers: Infinity War as well as some others. However, that would also come along with its own set of problems.
The other and more probable scenario is of time travel. This has some relevance too. Ant-Man and The Wasp, as well as Captain Marvel (the next two MCU films to release before Avengers 4), are both dated before the Avengers: Infinity War’s events, and that might build some reference to time travel that would be seen in the Avengers 4.
More rumors have emerged from Avengers 4 set. There was a report about Tom Hiddleston being seen in his Loki costume on the set although his character was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Not just that, but, we also saw images of the original Avengers wherein they looked the way they were in the original Avengers movie. All this could also be indicative of flashback sequences, rather than time travel, but, there is certainly a case for the latter.
The untitled Avengers 4is scheduled to release on May 3, 2019.
You can watch Avengers: Infinity War in theaters and future MCU films include Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019,Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.
