After many months of speculation from all the fans, we now know some details about DC Comics’ upcoming video streaming service.
This was hinted in 2016 and will be known as “DC Universe.” DC had celebrated this announcement by launching a website.
The fans have been speculating a whole lot about the DC Universe, following projects that had been announced for this platform. Among these are Titans, the live-action take on members of Teen Titans, a Harley Quinn series, a new installment of Young Justice: Outsiders, and Swamp Thing.
“DC Universe is a first-of-its kind, immersive digital experience designed just for DC fans.” The website reads. “One of the many incredible things your membership will include is unlimited access to the following exclusive original series.”
Titans is set to be executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, AkivaGoldsman, Sarah Schechter, and Warner Bros TV, and will debut this year. The series’ cast includes BrentonThwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly.
Young Justice: Outsiders is the third season of the Young Justice animated series, and is set to feature cast members like Khary Payton, Danica McKellar, Nolan North and Alyson Stoner.
The Harley Quinn animated series will be an adult-oriented half-hour series and is created by Powerless EPs Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.
A Metropolis live-action drama series is also on the slate and was announced this year. With this series expected to start its filming this year, it may be a while before Metropolis makes it to the DC Universe.
