Fox Chairman Reveals The Main Reason Behind Cancellation Of Lucifer TV Show

Now, all the TV networks are finalizing their slates for the next season and along with this comes the bad news of a few cancellations, and this includes one fan-favorite series. The cancellation of Lucifer has angered many fans.

FOX’s chairman, Gary Newman has now thrown light on why they had decided to cancel this series after three seasons.

Lucifer’s cancellation had come down to “a ratings-based decision; we had very a successful late year with all four new dramas renewed,” Newman had said.

“We felt like performance-wise, we needed to make that change.”

The star of this series, Tom Ellis had posted a short message on social media:

“It has been the most amazing experience over the past 3 years playing Lucifer and falling in love with you, the fans,” Ellis had written.

“It fills me with great sadness to confirm the rumors that some of you have been asking. Fox has indeed canceled Lucifer. I’m so sorry guys.”

“We created a season finale with a huge cliffhanger so that there was no way Fox could cancel us,” Henderson had written.

“Instead, we’re going to frustrate the hell out of you fans. I’m so sorry for that.”

He added more, writing “the Lucifer finale is the best hour of television I’ve been lucky to write. It wraps up everything from the season. But what it teases for season 4… well, maybe, just maybe, we can Save Lucifer and show you.”

Henderson had supported all the fans and encouraged them to make some noise.

Lucifer does have a chance to be picked up by The CW or the DC Universe streaming platform as well.
