Batman’s Costume Reveal Stirs Up The Discussions In The Fandom

Fans have gone into a frenzy seeing the new Batman suit. Everything from its plot to its costume and score is being discussed. Batman has a lot riding on its shoulders. DC is desperately looking for establishing Batman on the screen. They have succeeded and failed almost an equal number of times. Though Clooney’s turn as Batman is hugely panned but Keaton, and Bale have Batman as one of their most successful roles as well as something that has established them as actors. Pattinson’s casting was met with mixed reception but he has a lot of support within the community with Nolan, the acclaimed director of The Dark Knight Trilogy and Bale both advocating and defending him for it. And it is not like Pattinson is not aware of fandom craze, he did play our beloved Edward and Cedric.

Though not keen on taking franchise roles Batman was something that Pattinson had on his mind for the longest time due to which he prodded Reeves continuously. Obviously none of that worked and he had to go through a bevy of producers and casting people and not to forget some really tough competitors to get this role.

This costume reveal not only gives us hint about the kind of Batman and story we are going to get. But also gives us a peek on a magnificent score by Michael Giacchino. The costume shows us that technology and modernism might be the basis of this Batman. The mask gives us the Adam West vibe and at the same time his chest insignia tells us that the story is taking the detective route by hinting on a story line that happened in The Detective story #100.

And it matches the brief Reeves has given to the fans till now too. He has again and again focussed on the fact that it is a detective noir story.

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional,” Reeves told THR. “It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
