Asgardian Weapons Are Going To Be Key To Defeat Thanos In Avengers 4

Avengers: Infinity War is perhaps the best culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was only successful due to 18 movies and ten years of hard work by Marvel Studios. The movie has won over hearts and minds of both critics and fans.

The movie has been making giant waves all over the world with audiences lining up outside cinemas everywhere in droves. It opened to a massive opening weekend of around $640 million worldwide and has also become the fastest ever to reach $1 Billion marks in Box office collections within just 11 days.

Avengers Infinity War saw the appearance of Thanos the Mad Titan. He is the Darth Vadar of the MCU and is every bit as scary as we expected. He was terrifying and menacing. He wasn’t just a cosmic warlord who was on Earth to establish his dominance but was driven by a specific urge to bring balance to the universe.

He believed that resources were scarce with too many mouths to feed, plunging them into poverty and squalor. The only way out of this vicious cycle was to exterminate half the life from the universe.  In order to accomplish this, he needed to complete the Infinity Gauntlet with all six Infinity stones that could help him wipe out half the universe with the snap of his fingers. And he was successful in doing so too by the end of the movie.

The movie ended on a major cliffhanger as nearly all our Marvel heroes were doomed by Thanos’s snap, while Thanos retreated back to safety after completing his mission.  Avengers 4 will hopefully see our heroes’ regrouping back to find a way to undo what happened in Avengers 3.  But can the Avengers actually beat a guy who has the power of the Infinity Stones. Turns out they can, as long as they have the Secret Asgardian Super-Weapons to defeat him.

The Avengers were no match for Thanos. The Mad Titan was unlike any villain the Avengers had ever faced. The Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers together fought Thanos, hoping to at least stop the guy in his tracks. But Thanos was unstoppable.

The only time Thanos was gravely injured was at the end of the movie, when Thor literally drove his new Weapon, Stormbreaker through his chest.  But Thanos still managed to snap his fingers nonetheless while smirking at Thor saying, “You should have gone for the head.”

However, we did learn that the Asgardian Uru weapons can harm the Titan.

Thor’s Mjolnir hammer was destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. So in Infinity War, he forges the Ancient powerful Axe ‘Stormbreaker’ for which he literally had to absorb massive amounts of heat to re-ignite the dying star and activate the forge.

Apparently, there is a huge trove of secret Asgardian weapons that Odin and Hela once used to conquer planets and destroyed their enemies.

Thor’s Nidavellir arc showed us how he, accompanied by Groot and Rocket, traveled to the realm of the Dwarf smiths who were Asgard’s greatest weapon-smiths. There we meet Eitri, the king of the dwarves and the last surviving member of Nidavellir after Thanos wiped out everyone else to stop them from making another Infinity Gauntlet.

Eitri is Nidavellir’s most skilled Weapon-smith and has been working and molding with Uru, the magical metal that makes all Asgardian weapons since time immemorial. The Avengers need Eitri as he is the only one who can give them the one thing they need – Magical Asgardian Weapons made of Uru strong enough to defeat Thanos.

Since Steve Rogers’s Vibranium shield was destroyed and broken into pieces, he was later given a similar looking shield made of Uru.

Bruce Banner is unable to transform into Hulk ever since the epic beatdown he got from Thanos traumatized him for good.  He had to use the Hulk Buster to fight the Black Order. He could be given a similar Uru weapon if the Hulk still refuses to come out.

Eitri was played by the talented Peter Dinklage and was one of the surprisingly best highlights of the film. If this theory proves correct, we may get to see him once again in Avengers 4.

Until then, watch Avengers Infinity War at a cinema near you. The movie has already become the fastest grossing movie ever to reach the Billion dollar mark at the Box office in 11 days.

Directed by Russo brothers and produced by Marvel President Kevin Feige, the script is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
