During The CW’s Upfronts presentation, Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed that Batwoman is going to be a part of the upcoming Arrowverse crossover. Although it is not revealed how Batwoman will be set into the story, it was also hinted that Gotham City is finally going to enter the Arrowverse.
“This is the first time ever that she will make a live-action appearance on any screen,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz said.
Batwoman’s comic book debut was back in 1956, and Kate Kane took over the mantle in 2006. Then on, the character has cultivated a loyal fan following, especially as she happens to be one of the first DC superheroes to be openly lesbian. Over the years, fans saw various versions of Batwoman in the comic books, latest of which was in her solo series, and as a key member of Bombshells United.
One thing is sure; this will excite and surprise DC Comics fans because it takes the Arrowverse into new and unexpected terrain. This introduction of Gotham City into Arrowverse is coming at a very interesting time when Gotham is nearing its end, and there are new Batman associated TV shows in the works. Also, Bruce Wayne’s name got mentioned in the current season of Arrow. Therefore, Gotham City might actually get another version. Also, you can’t be sure of what’s coming up next once Batwoman debuts in the crossover. Would she become a part of the Legends of Tomorrow? Or is it going to be a precursor to her own solo show? The only thing that we can be sure of is that all the Arrowverse fans are going to be super excited to find out more.
Legends of Tomorrow is currently on a break, and Arrow’s season finale aired last night. Flash’s Finale is going to air on Tuesday, May 22nd, at 8/7c. Supergirl is going to wrap up the current season on June 25th at 8/7c. all four Arrowverse shows will be back with new seasons in the fall.
