Josh Brolin just revealed that he is very happy that he did not play the role of Batman (Bruce Wayne) in the movie, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. This actor is not a stranger to comic book films, and this year, we will see him reprise his role of Thanos in Infinity War and also playing the role of Cable in Deadpool 2.
This star had a pretty mixed luck with this genre previously after playing the lead role in Jonah Hex and Dwight in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
Brolin was a contender for the Batman V Superman and Zack Snyder had envisioned a grizzled take on the role. This part went to Ben Affleck who has now become the face of the DCEU.
While missing out on playing this role may be sad for many, Brolin has revealed that he is happy he did not have to play this role:
“We indirectly talked about it, but we never got to the point because I wasn’t the guy for him. I’m really glad it didn’t happen. I haven’t thought twice about it.”
Yes, Brolin would have easily captured the essence of the Bruce Wayne, but from this interview, we know that his heart was not in it fully. While this film had drawn mixed reviews, Affleck’s performance was the film’s highlight.
If Brolin had taken this role, he wouldn’t have been able to play Cable in Deadpool 2. Infinity War brings Thanos into the limelight as well. Thanos will be the major antagonist in the Infinity War movie and its and its sequel.
This star had also revealed that he had preferred playing Thanos more than Cable and really enjoyed working with motion capture.
